Open Forum - 19th February 2008

Climate Change: the Local Impact

The Society holds a public Open Forum each year in February to promote discussion on a subject of topical interest. This relates to our objectives of preserving and enhancing the local environment and supporting a viable local economy in Dartmouth, Kingswear, Blackawton, Dittisham, Stoke Fleming and Strete.

This year the subject will be the local impact of climate change. As usual, the Forum will start with some short introductions to 'set the scene' and will then be open to a general discussion from the floor. Contributors this year include local experts from the Environment Agency and Devon County Council, who will be describing expected changes in the climate and some of the local consequences (for example, flooding and storm risk).

The event will take place in the Main Auditorium in the Flavel centre in Dartmouth from 7.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. on Tuesday 19th February. We welcome all members of the public to the Forum.
